Day 3 - I suck
Wednesday, February 20th, 2008For the first 60 hours or so I just took the naps in the sofa, because I know that I sleep so comfortable in my bed that I often don’t even hear the alarms (and I’ve tried with 3-4 differenet simultaneous alarms). Stupid as I am, I figured I’d try taking the nap in the bed yesterday since sleeping in a 2-seat sofa was beginning to hurt my back. So I took a nap and woke up 8 hours later.
So I had a unintentional “reboot” as polyphasic sleepers call it. Which sucks, because it will take longer for the body to get used to getting into REM-sleep quickly when it doesn’t “need” to anymore. So I’ve basically restarted and hopefully I’ll be able to last longer now. I’m thinking this was strike one, and if I fail two more times I’ll just try to figure out another sleeping system (biphasic perhaps, which is like 4.5 hours at night and one 20m nap in the day).
I also managed to play 0 hands of poker, heh. I did some sportsbetting though. Scalping/Hedging is quite fun and I think it’ll also be very profitable when I can make bigger bets (in other words, when my bankroll is bigger). 12 out of 13 bets were winners yesterday.
